My answer depends on how we define our terms. Do we mean humans’ ignorance of computers, of computers’ ignorance?
Human’s.
A colleague pointed this out (thank you, Blake), and since I sometimes work IT, I have found it to be true. Folks just out and out state–Oh, I don’t no anything about computers, why don’t you do it for me? one wouldn’t say “Oh, I can’t read, you just read this book to me and explain it.” or “I never could zipper pants; can you help me?”
It’s not always easy, but very few skills are.
Amen! I’m willing to help, but I will not simply do “your computer things” for you.
